Welcome to the
web site of the Department of Economics, Hong
Kong Baptist University.
As part of the School
of Business, the Department serves to provide
economic courses and conducts advanced research. The
economic courses help train the students to acquire
the techniques and experience to better understand
and analyze economic issues, and the economic
research conducted by the faculty members improves
the frontier of the economic theory and offers
policy recommendations to relevant governments and
industries.
The Department has a
strong emphasis on serving the community and
encourages its faculty members to apply the economic
theory and their research to investigate some of the
pressing economic issues facing the economies of
Hong Kong and China.
